Contemporary Chic Elegance and Traditional Smiles – A Winning Combination…
Devasom Khao Lak Beach Resort & Villas is totally new and fresh, with the first guests welcomed in December 2018.
It is a contemporary boutique in style with just 69 villas and suites, with an emphasis on highly personalised service and facilities.
The name Devasom is a combination of two Sanskrit words, Deva meaning angel and Ashram indicating residence. The design combines both innovation and contemporary features with influence taken from bygone history, with some incredible artefacts gathered from around the region with some amazing heavy wooden doors imported from India.
Devasom is located just a few minutes drive north of Khao Lak village, alongside a river inlet & lagoon. A 70 minutes scenic drive as you head north from Phuket airport.
Devasom has 69 rooms and suites. Each is spacious and beautifully designed, combining modern-day comforts with subtle calming Thai influences.
You have a choice of:
Seaside Grand Deluxe, with 54sqm of living space and offer a partial sea view.
The Seaside Junior Suites are larger at 62sqm, have an additional Jacuzzi bath and offer both lagoons and angled sea view. Very special for both their romantic style, quiet location and view of both lagoon and sea.
The Seaside Pool Paradise suites have 105 sqm including a 5x4m swimming pool, separate living room and offer both lagoon and sea view.
The Beach Pool Villas are similar but even larger at 150sqm and offer direct access to the beach. Located right above the beach with a large horizon-edge pool.
The Two Bedroom Beach Front Villas offer 195sqm of total living space and are perfect for families or two couples.
And finally, you have a sumptuous Two Bedroom Sky Villa, perched at the top of the main building with panoramic views overlooking the resort and the Andaman sea. It has a sky garden & an infinity-edge pool.
With all accommodation, the minibar is refreshed daily with non-alcoholic beverages. The “Devasom Sky Villa” Panoramic Pool Penthouse even offer a complimentary alcoholic minibar, roundtrip airport transfer and welcome message.

Devasom is very impressive in style, with spacious rooms and a real sense of elegance in the rooms and public areas.
Khao Lak has many new hotels, but at Chic we particularly like Devasom for its desire to be different. The acknowledgement of past cultures, the extremely high standard of accommodation and super location. Plus the passion of the management team to provide something truly unique & memorable.
The design is outstanding, with so many areas capturing the changing light, particularly attractive at sunset. You can tell the owners are well travelled, not just in Asia, but in Latin Europe as well. Especially noticeable in the restaurants with their almost Puglia influences.
Both David and Marie-Helene from Chic have stayed at Devasom and would be delighted to share their experiences with you.
Khao Lak is generally at its best weather-wise from November through to the end of April. The month’s May to October, when the prices drop, tend to see more red flags, with higher sea swells and some beach erosion. July/September can bring more rainfall, usually in short heavy bursts, although more than 36 hours without sunshine is rare.
Despite increased tourism, Khao Lak is still a much quieter option than Phuket. That is part of the attraction. You can take advantage of the good air service into Phuket but enjoy a very different holiday experience. The nightlife in the Khao Lak village areas (there are actually three villages all running close together) will be confined to a few restaurant bars, occasionally with music.
Khao Lak is a place for authentic dining and enjoying a relaxing drink rather than a party. There are a few shops selling holiday beachwear, and a surprising number of “Ranjit Armani“ tailors.
In Khao Lak, there is plenty to see and do!
For something even more authentic, travel north by taxi for about 20 minutes from your hotel to the little town of Takua Pa, with its market & walking street. The immediate area offers offshore diving and snorkelling.
Inland you have the huge Koh Sok national park with its dense forests. Ideal for nature treks. Elephant Hills Camp, which is one of the best known in the region. This can easily be twinned with your stay at Devasom.
There is an 18 hole holiday golf course close by and several more of a higher standard in Phuket.
Khao Lak can be easily combined with other points of interest with Thailand such as Bangkok and Chiang Mai. There are also direct flights into Phuket from Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur so multi-country combinations are so easy. Ask us for suggestions.
There is another Devasom resort, located in Hua Hin. Under the same good management, the Hua Hin property offers a Thai-Victorian design theme with a flourish of Thailand. Easily accessible by road from Bangkok. Ask us for details.

Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May – June level and about 50% more in Asia.
For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per person per night hotel guide, excluding airfare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.

Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, some hotels may have changed their facilities. Standard descriptions like distance from airport or town remain consistent as does the overall resort style.
