The Romanos is Romantic and Luxurious – Essentially couples focused.
The Romanos – A Luxury Collection Resort – is located on a quiet stretch of beach on the west coast of the Peloponnese region, 170 miles from Athens (an interesting scenic 3-hour drive). Built on an extensive private estate leading down to an expansive stretch of dune beach. The entire hotel has been built to reflect a traditional regional atmosphere with the highest quality.
The Romanos is a totally self-contained resort sharing many leisure facilities with its neighbouring sister property, The Westin.
The nearest airport is Kalamata, 45 minutes transfer to the hotel. See footnote on travel.
The Romanos has 321 rooms and suites. All are beautifully decorated, spacious and contemporary.
You have a choice of Deluxe Rooms & Junior Suites.
In addition, you have a selection of Speciality Suites, mostly sea facing, albeit from a distance.
Most of the rooms and suites on the ground floor have their own plunge pools.
Facilities shared with the Westin.
Numerous restaurants of differing cuisine styles located between the two hotels at the Agora Village centre, Greek-style amphitheatre for evening entertainment, open-air cinema. Navarino Dunes championship golf courses (proof of handicap required February to April and September/November *).
You have Tennis courts. A host of eco-friendly touring options including one of the largest off-road bike hire stations ever seen in a hotel! Romanos guests can use all of the extensive facilities throughout the resort, including the swimming pools at the Westin, but it does not apply vice versa and some restaurants will be reserved for or given priority to Romanos guests.
Fantastic Anazoe Spa, located in the central area between the hotel and neighbouring Romanos. Award-winning and one of the most acclaimed in the entire region. Olive oil – allegedly discovered in the nearby Palace of Nestor – is a feature of many of the treatments. Although many of the treatments are adult-focused, some can also be tailored to younger teens as well.
Golf – Two championship courses. During the months Feb to April and Sept/ Nov proof of 36 handicaps required for men/ladies. Allowances will be made for 36/54 handicap but with restricted tee off times. No handicap restriction other periods.
There are two clubs for children , both located at the neighbouring Westin Resort . A Buggy or resort toy-town train link the two resorts or you can walk in a few minutes . Cocoon is more suited for the younger ones. For those of a more confident nature and 5 years up, you have Sandcastles , which has to be one of the very best clubs. In addition to the water park with slides, you have climbing areas, a separate swimming pool, a games arcade, indoor sports hall and even a relaxed Deli style restaurant with a fun menu, jukebox and adjacent bowling alley. Depending on the season and occupancy, a separate teens club, probably in the peak summer months when additional coaching facilities will also be available.
The Romanos has a classic simplicity and luxury, with highly innovative in-room features. Excellent facilities, particularly when combined with the neighbouring Westin hotel.
More upscale and more couples-focused than the neighbouring Westin, The Romanos Resort is particularly suggested for couples or those with younger children or infants looking for a slightly quieter less family-focused style.
Please Note – The immediate beach shelves sharply, so sea bathing is suggested for the more confident swimmer. There is a more sheltered cove beach about 10 minutes bike ride from the resort.

+ About Greece
Greece is truly a fantastic country, with superb resorts, a combination of contemporary styles and classic designs. History of course, with Athens well worth two or three days, if your time permits. Delightful beaches and traditional villages. And without doubt some of the most hospitable and friendly people.
Most of the resort hotels close at the end of October and start reducing facilities from mid October onwards, as occupancy decreases. Equally in May, hotel facilities are opened gradually, depending on occupancy, usually fully operational by mid June.

Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May – June level and about 50% more in Asia.
For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per person per night hotel guide, excluding airfare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.

Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, some hotels may have changed their facilities. Standard descriptions like distance from airport or town remain consistent as does the overall resort style. However, the number of restaurants, swimming pools, if more than one, are by example flexible and can change depending on occupancy and circumstances. Spa facilities, in particular, may be changed depending on local and international suggestions.
If your holiday decision is based on any specific facility please let us know at the time of booking so we can ascertain availability from the hotel. Please note, such information may be accurate at the time given but could be subject to change. In these times it would be prudent to be open-minded and flexible on such matters.
The situation on destination entry seems to vary month to month, or in some cases week to week or even day-to-day.
