Chilled Out Tropical Escapism in the Truest Sense…
High Season Pool Villa & Spa (it is open year-round) is wonderfully rustic, thatched-roofed, chic elegance. Proudly adopting green global standards and using natural building materials, you instantly immerse yourself into the delightful simplicity, yet with all the contemporary comforts you crave.
The location is at Klong Chao Beach on the west coast, one of the most romantic sites in the entire region.
The journey here is all part of the adventure and experience. You fly for one hour south from about Bangkok to the domestic airport at Trat. From there you will be transferred by road for 45 minutes to the jetty point and then continue by private speedboat for one hour directly to the resort.
Koh Kood (also spelt Ko Kut) is one of our favourite islands in Thailand, and that is saying something. It is lush, totally tropical, with incredible beaches, dense forests, waterfalls, small villages and is a world away from the much more developed islands found further north. Tourism is still in its infancy here, with just a handful of small exclusive resorts.
High Season Pool Villa & Spa as a total of 41 thatched roofed individual villas.
All are spacious and can comfortably accommodate two adults and two children.
Each villa an has an air-conditioned bedroom, satellite TV, en-suite bathrooms with an outdoor rain shower.
Choice of restaurant and cuisine with both Southern Thai specialities and Mediterranean dishes on offer.
Privately tailored tours around the island (it will take about 6 hours including diversion to the rather pleasant waterfalls, plus you see the various and wonderful beaches the island has to offer).
Or you go snorkelling at Koh Rang, between Koh Kood and Koh Chang and regarded as one of the best sites in the area.
High Season Pool Villa & Spa is simply wonderful. This is like discovering the Thailand of yesteryear – one of the largest islands but with hardly any people. Come for the total relaxation. This is sublime tropical chillout.
If shopping and nightlife are priorities, think again, or make it in Bangkok on your way out or back. Just kick back, smile and enjoy.
There are a few authentic restaurant options close by. Neighbouring to the High Seasons, you have two totally quirky little hotels – Peter Pan and Tinkerbell!
Go with someone special: this is much too good to enjoy on your own. View the journey as part of the unique appeal. If it was shorter & easier, the island would lose its real sense of escapism and exclusivity.
High Season Pool Villa accepts well-behaved children but has no specific facilities other than what nature provided.
Same-day connections with international travel are possible, but we think a night or two in Bangkok, especially on the return, is a safer option. Stopovers in Bangkok are easy to arrange, or you can combine your stay with a few nights on Koh Chang where we suggest the Santhiya Resort.
As the island is located in the extreme south of the Gulf of Siam close to the border with Cambodia, the most settled weather tends to be November to April when the prices are at their highest. May to October is more red flag season, with higher sea swells and rainfall, although this is mainly in short sharp bursts rather than constant. You take a chance on the weather but the prices drop considerably…

+ About The Gulf of Siam Resorts
Located on the west coast of the Gulf of Siam, just over 2 hours drive south of Bangkok. For years they have been the aspirational centre for affluent Thai families who have holiday homes in the area. The two resorts run into each other along the coast, with Hua Hin the more developed with many hotels and in particular high rise condominiums.

Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May – June level and about 50% more in Asia.
For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per person per night hotel guide, excluding airfare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.

Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, some hotels may have changed their facilities. Standard descriptions like distance from airport or town remain consistent as does the overall resort style. However, the number of restaurants, swimming pools, if more than one, are by example flexible and can change depending on occupancy and circumstances. Spa facilities, in particular, may be changed depending on local and international suggestions.
If your holiday decision is based on any specific facility please let us know at the time of booking so we can ascertain availability from the hotel. Please note, such information may be accurate at the time given but could be subject to change. In these times it would be prudent to be open-minded and flexible on such matters.
