Pine Cliffs Hotel & Resort is constantly popular with families who return year after year.
The Pine Cliffs Resort is one of the most family-friendly resorts in the Mediterranean, with extensive all-round facilities. Situated on a clifftop, offering breathtaking views of an expansive beach. Just outside of Albufeira, 35 minutes drive from Faro Airport.
The resort has a contemporary design style yet still proudly reflects the Algarve with many traditional features.
Within the main Pine Cliffs Resort you have 215 Deluxe and larger Grand Deluxe Rooms. Especially recommended for families or extended stays, given their integrated living space. They are grouped around the main pool and tropical gardens.
In a separate adjacent building, you have the newly constructed Ocean Suites with Junior Suites, One and Two-Bedroom Suites with kitchenette.
The accommodations either faces the golf course or out to sea across the tropical gardens, so few actually have a clear ocean view. We have used the official resort description, as to do otherwise would cause confusion with room provision. Within this area you have an additional swimming pool.
You also have the Pine Cliff Gardens. This is a selection of 87 One, two and three-bedroom apartments.
- The one-bedroom has master bedroom
- The two-bedroom has master bedroom and twin
- The three-bedroom has master, queen and twin
All have kitchens and dining areas and a living room with space for two sofa beds for children under 12 years. The Pine Cliff Gardens are well located in the heart of the resort, close to the kids’ club. The beach is about 10-minute walk, or you can take a resort shuttle.
- Several swimming pools
- Numerous restaurants dotted around the extensive grounds, all of which are open to all the family
- Tennis courts and a highly regarded tennis and golf academy (extra cost)
- A challenging 9 hole golf course cuts through part of the resort, whilst close by you have several alternative championship courses
- Gym and health club
- The Porta Pirate Kids Club is well supervised and offers a complete range of activities for children one year to 8 years
- A Junior Club is available to 9 to 12 year olds. Both clubs are seasonal, depending on occupancy and are more likely to be open mid-June to early September
- The lively town of Albufeira is just a few minutes drive away, here you will find a further selection of restaurant options
From spring 2025, Pine Cliffs will be charging an additional facilities fee.
This is similar to the policy applied by many hotels in the USA where you pay an additional amount to actually use the facilities you might have previously taken for granted. And Pine Cliffs is part of the Marriott group of hotels. The fee varies depending on accommodation booked and starts at Euro 15 daily, going up to Euro 25 daily. However, it does include the following, as well as some discounts on other facilities:
* Complimentary access to beach sunbeds and shading (subject to availability)
* Complimentary in-resort e-shuttle
* Complimentary in-resort parking
* Complimentary wi-fi throughout the Resort
* Complimentary newspapers and magazines through Press Reader
* Complimentary Mini-Golf in the Porto Pirata kids’ club
* Exclusive discounts on Porto Pirata daycare services
* First aid/nursing assistance daycare services
* Free access to all outdoor resort pools regardless of the property clients have booked.
* Free access to the internal heated pool & remaining facilities (Located in the Pine Cliffs Hotel)
Pine Cliffs Resort is constantly popular with families who return year after year, attracted by the excellent facilities and extremely family-friendly atmosphere. In our view, it is more superior first class, on the cusp of deluxe, but provides a really high-quality, family-focused holiday. The enhancements to the public areas and many of the room options are exceptionally good.
As is common on the Algarve, the hotel is perched high above the cliffs with dramatic views of the beach below. A panoramic lift and wooden pathways lead down to the beach (buggies are usually left by the lift entrance). During the winter months the hotel is extremely popular with golf groups, becoming more family-oriented during the spring and summer months.

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers. Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May - June level and about 50% more in Asia. For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per-person, per-night hotel guide, excluding air fare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.
