One of the most popular upscale hotels in the entire region – superb beach. Attracts couples – and families during the holiday seasons
Carlisle Bay Antigua is a sophisticated and stylish hotel, with good all-round family appeal. Located on the southwest corner of the island, 30 minutes from the airport, on a long cove beach with a lush green backdrop, one of the highest points on the island.
Carlisle Bay Antigua has 87 suites spread around the extensive gardens and beachfront in 17 low rise buildings. All are bright and contemporary with either Terrace (Ground Floor) or a balcony (Upper Floor).
You have a choice of :
Garden View Suites – 780 sq feet with integrated living space. Best suited for couples, plus one child under 12 years.
Ocean View Suites – as above
Bay Suites – as above but in a quiet corner of the resort with easy beach access, particularly suggested for couples’ romance.
2 Bedroom Beach Suites – with either Terrace (ground floor) or Balcony (upper floor) – 730 sq. feet with master bedroom and study area which can be converted into a second junior bedroom. One bathroom. Best suited for two adults and two children under 12 years.
In addition, you have a couple of Three-bedroom Suites – perfect for larger families.

- Kayaks can be hired with lagoon mangrove exploration an option to the open sea.
- Group Yoga classes are arranged throughout the week. Private lessons can be arranged at a supplement
- Superb beach with lush green hill and lagoon backdrop.
- Speedboat hire, see below for suggested visit to English Harbour – this can be a good option to the road transfer
The resort offers a meal plan with breakfast only or an All-Inclusive option, which would be our choice for value and peace of mind.
The All-Inclusive Plan Includes:
Breakfast, lunch and dinner daily *, afternoon tea, soft drinks and juices, beers, wines and spirits by the glass from an extensive house selection.
*Extra prices will apply for premium spirits, wines and some menu items such as lobster and prime steaks.
Contemporary and definitely Chic, but in an easy-going manner. Carlisle Bay Antigua is one of the top family hotels in the region.
The resort covers a wide acreage including tropical gardens and an extensive soft sand beachfront. Excellent facilities with a choice of restaurants and locations – a couple might be adults only.
This Southwest part of Antigua is one of the most scenic, with historic interest in English Harbour / Nelson Dockyard about 30 minutes drive. The capital of St John’s is located on the northwest coast, 40 minutes drive – can be fun to visit but try to avoid cruise ship days. The island can be circumnavigated in a full-day tour.
They say Antigua has 365 beaches, which might be a slight exaggeration, but the endless choice and quality is never in question.
Please Note: The hotel closes for annual renovation from 24 August to 11 October.

COVID-19 - Updated Information – March 2023.
Virtually all countries worldwide have relaxed their protocols on Covid and there are very few restrictions. However, most countries review this on a month-by-month basis and will take immediate action should cases return or increase.
As a general statement, we would say travel is back to about 90% of its 2019 pre-covid levels – although with maybe less staff than before. This can particularly apply to airports with check-in teams and baggage handlers, and also in hotels. If you are a long-time repeat visitor to a specific hotel it is quite possible you might know your way around the property better than the newly appointed staff – smile and maybe even try to assist!

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers. Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May - June level and about 50% more in Asia. For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
