RAKxa is one of the first integrated wellness and medical retreats in the entire region. Amazing attention to detail at every turn, from the range of treatments to the cuisine and the expansive garden estate which adds to the sense of relaxation.
It is operated in cooperation with Vitalife (https://www.vitallifeintegratedhealth.com) for medical wellness and Bumrungrad International hospital (https://www.bumrungrad.com/en) for scientific anti-ageing.
It is located on the artificial island of Bang Krachao, which is known locally as the green lungs of Bangkok. It is just 40 minutes drive south of central Bangkok on the Chao Phyra River, crossing over several small bridges. The “island” is authentic with small villages, no high-rise buildings, maybe more bikes than cars. The retreat grounds are expansive, green, lush & tropical, with most of the resort grouped around the natural lake with Bangkok clearly visible in the distance.
The two Bangkok airports are about 45 minutes drive away.
Note – The retreat is a dedicated health & wellness resort. Alcohol is not served or encouraged during your stay. Children under 16 years are not permitted. Mobile phone use is limited to private and not public areas and Wi-Fi can be deliberately restricted to certain areas. The intention is for you to de-stress and avoid the pressures of the outside world.
RAKxa has a selection of 62 low-rise villas. All are designed in a bright contemporary fashion and are extremely spacious.
They are linked to the main building by pathways and wooden bridges. Bikes can be hired for travelling around the retreat or buggies can be arranged on request.
There are 40 garden villas, staring at 80sqm interior space with bedroom, en suite bathroom and integrated lounge area. Each has its own hedged private garden.
The 20 Pool villas have similar interiors but are larger and have their own private pool.
In addition, there are two speciality suites.
- 2 organic themed restaurants
- Lounge with an extensive selection of healthy teas from the Asia region
- On-site organic garden & farm
- Outdoor swimming pool
- Indoor vitality pool
- Steam and sauna
- Hydrotherapy areas
- In-depth medical consultation on arrival to ascertain what you want to achieve from your stay and how you can get the best results with long-term suggestions
- Daily fitness classes on a group basis
There are more than 11 wellness programmes to choose from including rest and reset, cleanse and purity, immunity booster, long covid recovery, gut health, de-stress, weight management, facial and body solutions.
Minimum stay required is 3 nights . Daily breakfast , lunch, dinner, afternoon tea with wellness or detox menus .
Without a doubt, RAKxa is one of the most exclusive wellness retreats in the entire South-East Asia region, and that is saying something!
The style, the facilities, and the expertise are all incredible, plus the design and layout just add to the sense of tranquillity. It will appeal to those who are serious about changing their lifestyle with the intention of continuing the good habits into their future life. It is at the upper end of the price scale, almost proudly, but that is reflected in the quality you are purchasing.
We have shown a 5-night price guide including the cleanse & purify programme.
Note: A 5-night programme is highly recommended, but this can be reduced to 3-nights or extended to 14-nights, as you wish. Plus, you have numerous alternative health programmes to consider.
Rakxa in Thai language means to preserve, restore and heal.

+ About Bangkok
Bangkok Thailand – The bustling capital city of Thailand and one of the main gateways for travel around the country and the region. Towering high rises dwarfing ornate and colourful temples. Traditional Klongs (waterways) alongside packed roads. Smartly dressed executives walking alongside saffron robed Buddhist monks, usually with both on their mobile phone. Flying time 12 hours from the UK.

Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May – June level and about 50% more in Asia.
For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per person per night hotel guide, excluding airfare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.

Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, some hotels may have changed their facilities. Standard descriptions like distance from airport or town remain consistent as does the overall resort style. However, the number of restaurants, swimming pools, if more than one, are by example flexible and can change depending on occupancy and circumstances. Spa facilities, in particular, may be changed depending on local and international suggestions.
If your holiday decision is based on any specific facility please let us know at the time of booking so we can ascertain availability from the hotel. Please note, such information may be accurate at the time given but could be subject to change. In these times it would be prudent to be open-minded and flexible on such matters.
The situation on destination entry seems to vary month to month, or in some cases week to week or even day-to-day.
