The Adult only Layana Resort and Spa is attractive and elegant, in a simple, yet instantly luxurious manner…
Located on the quiet island of Koh Lanta, The Layana Resort and Spa is a small luxurious boutique hotel. A highly personable style and superb beachfront position.
You travel from Krabi Airport for 45 minutes to the ferry point and then continue by a 20-minute speedboat ride to the resort.
Note: During the period May to October, when the sea swells are higher, it is probable the transfer will be by road throughout.
Layana Resort’s 57 rooms and suites are grouped around the grounds in small clusters.
The Garden Rooms are in units of four, with two rooms on the upper floor and two on the ground, with either balcony or terrace. They are in an open ” U ” shape, stretching through the garden down to the main swimming pool.
The Beach Suites are directly oceanfront, with an integrated living area.
The Ocean Deluxe Villas are set behind the Beach Villas and have elevated roof lounge areas.
In addition, there is a spectacular and exclusive “La Maison” Two Bedroom Villa. It has its own swimming pool, set in a quiet garden located at the rear of the resort.
Two Swimming pools: One close to the beach front. The other is set back in the garden, close to the spa
The rather nicely named ‘Linga-longer’ spa, gym & fitness area with Muay Thai boxing classes available
There are a couple of dive centres close by (generally open November to April )
Main restaurant set aside the pool with beach option
A selection of non-motorised water sports can be arranged (extra costs apply to some items or motorised). Usually available November to April, dependent on sea conditions
Motorboat excursions to neighbouring resorts or islands, such as Phi Phi and Krabi. Extra cost. Usually available November to April
Layana Resort and Spa is attractive and elegant, in a simple, yet instantly luxurious manner.
All the rooms were recently enhanced with a bright contemporary design theme. Fantastic spa – without doubt one of the very best in the region plus a host of leisure activities including Muay Thai boxing classes. Super beachfront, with generally calm seas between December to April. Slightly higher swells in the summer months.
Although Koh Lanta does not have a lively nightlife scene, there are some simple local restaurants and bar alternatives nearby. Whilst many of the better known Thai resort areas such as Phuket & Samui have rapidly developed, Lanta remains proudly slow paced. The main attraction will be the beaches but take time to explore the island. It has a lush interior, waterfalls and some quaint villages.
Layana is an adult only resort and does not accept children under 18 years.
One of the most popular resorts in the entire region with an incredible repeat business. Early booking is essential especially in the months November to April. During the quieter months of May to October annually, the resort usually takes on a gentle renovation/enhancement programme. This rarely disrupts in-house guests as it is done discreetly, and the results tend to delight returning guests later in upcoming months.
DK from chic spent two nights here in June and seems to have loved every minute. Unusual for him, as he normally finds something hotels can do better. Particularly raved about the spa treatments.

Although the Sandbox scheme has improved week on week since its introduction in early July, and most of the southern resorts have a high vaccination rate and low cases, the UK Government has chosen to look at the entire country and made it all on the UK Red traffic light NO GO area.
It is highly probably the resort island of Phuket will re-open to international travellers from the first week of July 2021. We have a few ideas…
The present traffic like system for travel introduced by the UK Government was maybe well-intentioned but has probably lead to even more confusion. So this is an attempt to clarify, in deliberately simplistic terms.

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers.
Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May – June level and about 50% more in Asia.
