Layana Resort and Spa is attractive and elegant, in a simple, yet instantly luxurious manner.
All the rooms were recently enhanced with a bright contemporary design theme. Fantastic spa – undoubtedly one of the very best in the region and a host of leisure activities, including Muay Thai boxing classes. Super beachfront, with generally calm seas between December to April. Slightly higher swells in the summer months.
Although Koh Lanta does not have a lively nightlife scene, there are some simple local restaurants and bar alternatives nearby. Whilst many of the better known Thai resort areas such as Phuket & Samui have rapidly developed, Lanta remains proudly slow-paced. The main attraction will be the beaches but take time to explore the island. It has a lush interior, waterfalls and some quaint villages.
Layana is an adult-only resort and does not accept children under 18 years.
One of the most popular resorts in the entire region with incredible repeat business. Early booking is essential especially in the months of November to April. During the quieter months of May to October annually, the resort usually takes on a gentle renovation/enhancement programme. This rarely disrupts in-house guests as it is done discreetly, and the results tend to delight returning guests later in upcoming months.
DK from Chic spent two nights here and loved every minute. Unusual for him, as he normally finds something hotels can do better. Particularly raved about the spa treatments.
We think a holiday at Layana combines well with a tour around Thailand. We would suggest The Sukhothai Hotel in Bangkok and the 137 Pillars House in Chiang Mai.
There are now direct flights Chiang Mai to Krabi on Air Asia. Ask us for suggestions.

+ About Krabi & Koh Lanta
Krabi is located on the west coat mainland facing the Andaman Sea, and Koh Lanta is linked by car-ferry and/or speedboat. Both are wonderfully tropical, with limestone islands emerging from the generally turquoise waters. Krabi is more developed and has a lively nightlife scene at Ao Nang. Koh Lanta is quieter, with just a couple of good hotels, offering a glorious and real sense of escapism.

Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May – June level and about 50% more in Asia.
For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per person per night hotel guide, excluding airfare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.
