Borgo Egnazia offers superb Italian chic and simple contemporary elegance
Borgo Egnazia Hotel and Villas is a wonderfully Italian Chic sophisticated resort. It has a pristine yet relaxed elegance, with a total commitment to regional resources. Evident in the design, with the emphasis on local stone, space and light.
Located on a private olive-tree estate between the two main towns of Bari and Brindisi, approximately 50 minutes transfer from either airport. The attractive little port village of Savelletri is just a few minutes walk or shuttle away.
Within the adult-focused main building (La Corte) you have 63 contemporary styled Superior and larger Deluxe Rooms, with either courtyard or pool view. Some are described by the hotel as having sea view, but this will be from a distance and across the trees and the golf course.
At Le Ville you have 29 prestigious split level Three Bedroom Villas. Each has their own pool and are located on the estate perimeter. They are all wonderfully spacious, individually themed and designed and priced separately.
Within the attractive Borgo Village (Il Borgo) area you have 92 more authentically designed Studios and particularly good Family Suites. Located closer to the kids club and pool.
All of Borgo Egnazia’s accommodations throughout the resort are easily linked by attractive arches, courtyards and pathways.
Note – See our comment on the hotel’s sea view described above. The Villas are individually named and priced, depending on design, layout and facilities.
Children under 12 years will not be accepted in the La Corte (main building) from 15 June to 15 September 2018. This is to limit the number of children in the peak summer months allowing “quiet“ zones.

Borgo Egnazia offers superb Italian chic and simple contemporary elegance. Stunningly designed and so very relaxing.
Take time to explore. Get lost in the maze of courtyards and alleyways in the village area top easily immerse yourself in the beauty of the place.
The main building is particularly popular with couples. The Borgo Village area good for those with one or two children and who enjoy a more rustic design style. The villas are suitable for larger families looking for more opulent accommodation. As you would expect, Borgo Egnazia is popular with families in the mid-summer months. In the spring and autumn months, it becomes more couples focused.
The resort does play host to several championship golf tournaments during the year.
The immediate area is interesting, with many coastal and hillside villages to explore. A hire car will assist your flexibility. There are taxis but need advance booking. The little village of Savelletri is close to the larger beach club and is about 5 minutes by shuttle from the hotel. Here you will find several attractive dining options (usually open Easter to October)
The early Autumn months are pleasant with bright sunny days but without the searing heat of mid-summer. The weather is still good, there will be fewer people and the prices are reduced. Once the schools have resumed, the resort takes on a serene romantic atmosphere.

David Revisits Thailand 2022

COVID-19 - Updated Information – March 2023.
Virtually all countries worldwide have relaxed their protocols on Covid and there are very few restrictions. However, most countries review this on a month-by-month basis and will take immediate action should cases return or increase.
As a general statement, we would say travel is back to about 90% of its 2019 pre-covid levels – although with maybe less staff than before. This can particularly apply to airports with check-in teams and baggage handlers, and also in hotels. If you are a long-time repeat visitor to a specific hotel it is quite possible you might know your way around the property better than the newly appointed staff – smile and maybe even try to assist!

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers. Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May - June level and about 50% more in Asia. For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per person per night hotel guide, excluding air fare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.
