The Chedi Muscat epitomises chic boutique elegance… Whitewashed domes amid tropical gardens and fountains.
The Chedi Muscat combines traditional Omani and Asian Chic. Located on a “private” (cordoned off) beach. It is instantly attractive, in a low rise white washed style, with manicured tropical gardens leading down the beach. Ornate water-ponds add to the tranquil zen atmosphere.
The Chedi Muscat 15 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from New Muscat town. 20 minutes from the old town.
See important footnote on early arrivals and building work in area.
Chedi Muscat has a total of 158 rooms and suites, although it seems much smaller and intimate.
The Serai Rooms are in the 3 storey building either with pool or mountain view. Perfectly adequate but maybe on the compact side with 35 sqm of total living space.
The Deluxe and Deluxe Club Rooms are larger at 39sqm and located in one of two storey clusters facing the ornate water pools. Some have a balcony. The Club rooms are adjacent to the Club lounge.
The Chedi Suites have an additional living room and spa bath, as well as a shower. Offering 67sqm of living space, these are the only accommodation suitable for families. This in turn rather deliberately limits the number of children in the resort at any one time. The suites are either free-standing or in clusters of four, with either ground floor with terrace or upstairs with balcony.
The Deluxe Club Rooms and Chedi Suites offer a complimentary mini bar, laundry, airport transfers and club lounge access. You have daily morning coffee & high-tea and evening cocktails. (The Serai rooms and Deluxe rooms offer in-room water, soft drinks and beer). All rooms and suites have a daily fruit basket
Most of the accommodation has either mountain or garden facing aspect. Some also have sea facing views, albeit from a distance across the beautifully manicured gardens and small sand dunes.
Three main swimming pools – one at the beachfront for adults only and the other close to the main building, ideal for families with shaded stripes, with further spectacular adult-only “Long” swimming pool.
A highly impressive spa and gym.
Adjacent bar – just the place to enjoy a cocktail looking at the sunset.
Numerous attractive restaurant & cuisine options in differing locations.
Golf courses just 15 minutes drive north from the Chedi
The Chedi Muscat is beautifully designed, with some delightful small hidden corners amongst the gardens.
The “Long” swimming pool must be one of the most impressive in the region. It flows over 100m from the garden to the beach front. Wonderfully romantic and evocative.
The adjacent spa is equally attractive, with treatments influenced by both Arabia and Asia. Its holistic principles are based on aromatherapy, Ayurveda and herbalism.
The main focus of The Chedi tends to be for happy couples. Well behaved children are accepted/tolerated, but several areas and facilities are designated for adults only.
NOTE – During the peak demand period December to April the hotel runs at high occupancy.
If you arrive early morning, it is possible you might have to wait until 1400 hours until you have room availability, although you can use all guest facilities. We might suggest you consider booking a room for early arrival to avoid inconvenience. Reduced rates apply.
There is some private residential building work taking place close to the hotel. This is visible as you drive into the property and maybe from some of the mountain facing Serai rooms. The work is due for completion in the fourth quarter of 2019. Once within the property, any noise/disturbance is minimal, if at all.
Oman Plus – Primarily due to the increased services of Oman Air, we are now able to offer more twin centre combinations, with the idea of the Maldives particularly attractive. With Oman we suggest a combination with Alila Jabel Akhdar, set high up in the mountains. A total and rather spectacular contrast.

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers. Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May - June level and about 50% more in Asia. For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per-person, per-night hotel guide, excluding air fare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.
