Enjoy contemporary comforts and design merged with traditional Thai fashion with The Salil Hotel Riverside Bangkok
A relatively new name on the Bangkok hotel scene, opened late 2023. Instantly impressive with contemporary features and design merged with unique Thai art-deco features.
The Salil Hotel Riverside Bangkok is located on the eastern bank of the Chao Phyra River, about 50 minutes drive from the airport. The actual district is called Bang Kho Laem (place of narrow neck, as this is where the river bends and is at its narrowest) and still has many traditional houses and temples.
The Asiatique restaurant and market area is about 5 minutes tuk tuk ride. The Sathorn Jetty and Sky train stations are about 8 minutes by ferry shuttle, as well as to the aptly named Icon luxury shopping mall.
Note: There is a sister hotel, The Salil Sukhumvidt, which is located in the city centre. Details on request.
The Salil Hotel Riverside has 235 rooms and speciality suites.
They are all stylish with some arty flourishes, starting at 30 sqm.
You have a choice of:
Deluxe rooms with courtyard, pool, or river views depending on your price requirement.
Then a variety of studios and one or two bedroom suites. Some have ground-floor patios or balconies on upper floors.
- Spa
- Fitness centre
- A few on-site boutique shops
- Several dining and bar options in differing locations, including a wine bar
We have mentioned proximity to Asiatique, where you will find numerous street market stalls and some additional dining options, as well as lighthearted cultural shows.
Just a short boat ride away, you can explore some of Bangkok’s most famous cultural sites, like the Grand Palace and Wat Arun.
The hotel operates a ferry shuttle to the Icon shopping centre, worth visiting even if just to see the design and ground-floor food market and the regular evening light show.
It is unusual to find contemporary and heritage in the same place, but The Salil Hotel Riverside offers just that.
Moden comforts, but no doubt you are in Thailand. Good location for enjoying the busy river, plus the adjacent streets are full of old Bangkok character.
Like most hotels in Bangkok, expect an even ratio of leisure & corporate travelers—and quite a few social influencers, as it is a place to be seen!

+ About Bangkok
Bangkok Thailand – The bustling capital city of Thailand and one of the main gateways for travel around the country and the region. Towering high rises dwarfing ornate and colourful temples. Traditional Klongs (waterways) alongside packed roads. Smartly dressed executives walking alongside saffron robed Buddhist monks, usually with both on their mobile phone. Flying time 12 hours from the UK.

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers. Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May - June level and about 50% more in Asia. For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per-person, per-night hotel guide, excluding air fare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.
