The design of the Uga Chena Huts is extravagant and luxurious, yet at the same time wonderfully authentic. They are perfectly in keeping with the nature that surrounds you. The word “hut“ is nicely tongue in cheek.
A few minutes drive away, you have the thrill of wildlife with the Yala national park adjacent. This is Sri Lanka’s oldest and 2nd largest park. Home to elephants, leopards, sloth bears and deer. Close by you have the Bandala National Park, which is one of the best places for bird-watching.
Uga Chena is located at the very southern tip of the island. 236 miles from the international airport in Colombo. It is approx 6 hours plus transfer. Most clients will combine a stay with a hotel in the “Tea Country” and/or one of the southern beach resorts.
Uga Chena Huts has 14 individual “huts”, all Junior Suite style with their own plunge pool.
The huts are extremely spacious with over 1,130 sq feet of in and out living space. The interiors resemble a top class African lodge in many ways, with Sri Lankan touches.
