Description & Location

Ceylon Tea Trails is located close to Hatton and Nuwara Eliya, in the heart of planter country. This area is regarded as the most scenic. Remote, wonderfully atmospheric, usually with misty mornings and cool evenings. Here you are located 1250m above sea level. A real Sri Lanka top of the range experience, with colonial heritage boutique accommodation, incredible scenery and a real sense of style and occasion.

Accommodation

Ceylon Tea Trails accommodation is split into 4 colonial style bungalows, each with 4 to 6 individual bedrooms.

Here the arrangements include breakfast, lunch and dinner with of course afternoon tea, and wine and beer served with dinner. The bungalows are spread over the extensive estate, some 30 minutes apart. Each takes its name from a former tea planter occupant, Casteragh, Norwood, Summerville and Tientsin.

Facilities and Activities

Trekking
Cycling
River rafting as well as the rather more refined tea tasting and just observing life on a working tea estate.
Swimming pool
Tennis court
And of course, a croquet lawn

CHIC CHECK

Ceylon Tea Trails is a truly unique experience.

We would suggest a stay of at least 3 nights, but many clients do stay longer. As each bungalow cluster has a different ambience and setting, many clients follow the trail of the tea planter with a night or two in different locations. You can drive from Colombo or Kandy easily, but for something different we suggest the slow-moving scenic rail journey from Kandy as it twists its way up into the mountains. Remember here at night it will be cool, that log fire is not just for decoration,  so a warm jumper/wrap will be essential.
