The InterContinental Bali Resort offers all-round fun with a superb beach location.
One of the most established hotels in Bali, with excellent facilities and quality, plus probably the best soft beach location on the island.
It is located at Jimbaran Bay, about a 25-minute drive from the international airport. You can see the flights arriving/departing in the distance, but they are rarely heard.
The Intercontinental Jimbaran Resort has 425 rooms, suites, and villas spread over extensive tropical gardens in six separate wings.

- Premium Rooms which are similar but have lounge access where complimentary refreshments are served
- Both the Classic and Premium rooms overlook the gardens with patio or balcony
- In addition, you have several speciality suites and 2 freestanding villas

With over 400 rooms, it’s not exactly boutique, but the service and quality were highly professional and personalised.
Attractive mature tropical gardens with numerous ornate swimming pools. The dining choices within the hotel were excellent, plus you have numerous options either just along the beach (mainly offering seafood) or roadside with more cuisine offerings. There is a village just outside the hotel with some shopping, with the main shopping malls of Nusa Dua & Seminyak about 45 minutes’ drive away (most things in southern Bali are a short distance / long drive due to congested roads).
The beach is just amazing. I walked it numerous times. It’s powder soft and usually has gentle waves. In my view, it’s the very best of the island. The hotel opened in 1993, the first on Jimbaran Bay, so it had the choice of location. More recent arrivals not so fortunate, so they went to less attractive areas.
Note – The Jimbaran convention centre is adjacent to the hotel, so at times the clientele can be a mix of leisure smiles and hope the meeting ends soon!
