Blue Monkey Hotel & Beach Club, Barbados

Highly personalised, discreetly elegant.

Description & Location

Blue Monkey Hotel & Beach Club is a relatively new name to the Barbados luxury hotel scene, opened mid summer 2026.

Intimate with nicely elegant touches, combining a contemporary style with some traditional influences.

Blue Monkey Hotel is located in the upscale Parish of St James, at Paynes Bay. It is positioned across the road from the beach, with a usually assisted zebra crossing. The beach here is rated as one of the very best on the island with Number One Sandy Lane just to the right.

The airport is about 45 minutes drive. The capital Bridgetown 15 minutes. Holetown, with its boutique shopping & Lime Grove, is just 5 minutes drive north. Within a short drive you have over 20 restaurant & upscale bar options, including The Cliff & Tides. Just 15 minutes drive up the west coast you have the delightful Speightstown with more restaurants & art galleries.

CHIC CHECK

Blue Monkey Hotel & Beach Club is supremely stylish, offering something rather different.

The location, across the road from the beach, can be a point of discussion and personal choice, but there is no doubting the quality of accommodation and the overall style. In many ways the location adds to the sense of exclusivity.

Blue Monkey accepts families with well behaved children but, in our view, the main appeal will be to adult couples.

Both David and Marie-Helene (MH) from Chic have stayed at Blue Monkey and would be delighted to discuss in further detail. They know the Caribbean well, including the neighbouring islands, so are able to suggest interesting twin or triple centre ideas.

Barbados is an easy island to discover. It is roughly the same size as the Isle of Wight but with double the population at 280k, most of whom live in & around Bridgetown in the south west corner.

You can drive around the island in a day, seeing the coastal contrasts, with the wild Atlantic east coast very different to the generally calm western shore.
