Upscale contemporary resort elegance – The Sira is perfect for couples & families
The Sira opened in 2024 and brought a new level of contemporary elegance to Lombok, with its high level of accommodation, superb beachfront location and overall style.
It is part of the Marriott Luxury Collection. It is located on the northwest coast of the island, about a 90-minute scenic drive from the centrally located airport.
There are regular flights from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Labuan Bajo and Sumba, as well as Bali, and other routes are under discussion. There are also regular ferry service links to /from Bali, with two choices of ferry terminal on Lombok.
The Gili Islands are easily accessible, with Gili Air only 500 metres from the resort, just a few minutes by speedboat.
In the main building, you have a choice of:
46 extremely spacious junior suite-style rooms with integrated living space, starting from 94 sqm and then moving to huge speciality suites with over 900 sqm. All are sea-facing with sunset views.
Set to the side in the garden, you then have a selection of 14 one-, two- and three-bedroom villas from 450 sqm to 1500 sqm, each with a private pool.
The one-bedroom are perfect for that extra touch of romance, whilst the two- & three-bedroom are rather good for families or friends travelling together.
- Spa
- Gym
- Selection of three restaurants offering local Indonesian
- Mediterranean and Asian-style tapas, as well a cocktail bar and weekly beach barbeques
- One Olympic-size swimming pool and one 70-metre-long beachfront swimming pool
- Superb beach with a choice of non-motorised water sports
- 5-star PADI diving centre and snorkelling trips to the neighbour Gili islands
The Sira is a wonderful new addition to the Lombok hotel scene. It has facilities for both couples and multi-generational families.
Lombok is developing but at a slower, more considered pace than highly developed southern Bali. As such, a two-island holiday of contrast can be easily arranged.
Lombok is a scenic island, especially on the west coast, with attractive mountain scenery, small villages & several waterfalls. Like most of Indonesia, it is a Muslim island, so the call to prayer is audible. Lombok is a place to chill and relax. it is not known for nightlife or shopping.
Like Bali, the best time weather-wise tends to be mid-March / October. The months from November to early March usually have more rainfall.
David from Chic visited the hotel in late 2025 and would be delighted to discuss in greater detail.
He also visited the 3 Gili islands as well as travelling around Bali.

+ About Bali – Indonesia
Bali, Indonesia, is one of the most romantic islands in the world. Add instant culture and an almost spiritual atmosphere. Despite increased tourism, once away from the busier resorts, you still have a wonderful sense of tradition.
+ About Lombok and Gili Islands – Indonesia
Lombok is a neighbouring island to Bali. Equally scenic, with maybe even better beaches, making it a much quieter, less developed alternative. The Gili Islands are just offshore Lombok and are regarded as a top diving area in the region.

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers. Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May-June level and about 50% more in Asia. For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East, we show a per-person, per-night hotel guide, excluding airfare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.
