Cocana Resort is a welcome quality introduction to the Gili T hotel scene.
Cocana Resort is the most openly upscale resort on the island. Opened in 2023, Cocana has a bright, contemporary style in both the public areas and within the accommodation.
It is located on the west coast of the island, which tends to be the quieter side, although nothing is far away. Cocana will appeal to romantic couples, solo travellers or multi-generational families.
Travel from the ferry arrival point on the east coast to the hotel will be about 15 minutes by horse-drawn cart. This is the favoured transport around the island, along with bikes. Cars are not permitted.
The island is just 3 km long and 2 km wide, with a resident population of around 1500. It is the largest & busiest of the three Gili Islands, with neighbouring Gili Meno the quietest and Gili Air a compromise.
There are frequent speedboats between the 3 islands and to Lombok, about 20 minutes away. There are also several ferry services linking to Bali, with a journey time of about 1.5 hours. Most clients will combine it with a stay in Bali or Lombok or maybe both.
Cocana Resort has a choice of 38 Deluxe Lagoon Suites, 47 sqm, with integrated living space.
The Deluxe Pool View rooms are on the upper floor with balcony and on the ground floor with Deluxe Pool Access.
Then you have 45 Pool Villas, with either one, two or three bedrooms and in & out living space.

- Leisure options include horseback riding along the beach and paddle boats.
- There are numerous snorkelling and diving opportunities, including discovering underwater statues (same architect as in Grenada & Maldives)
Cocana Resort is a very pleasant welcome introduction and raises the standard completely on the island.
Gili Trawangan is known as the party island, and that certainly applies to the east coast with its numerous bars and beach clubs. It will be your first impression, as this is the location of the ferry terminal.
Cocana is a retreat away from this action but is close enough if you want to participate occasionally during your stay.
