Anantara Bophut has a super beach, good facilities and easy access dining options.
A traditional Thai design theme, with main building rooms and suites and a few garden villas. An attractive tropical garden surrounds.
Anantara Bophut is located on the north coast at BoPhut. In our mind, it is one of the three best beaches on the island. The other two would be at neighbouring Mae Nam & east coast Chaweng.
The famed Fisherman’s Village is a gentle 5 minute stroll along the beach boardwalk and here you will find numerous dining options and a night street market with shopping opportunities. The lively, almost raucous Chaweng nightlife area is about a 25 minute drive away. The airport is 15 minutes drive away.
Anantara Bophut has 106 rooms, suites and a few villas.
The rooms are in the three main buildings built around the main pool and have a garden, pool or sea view.
The Junior suites have integrated living areas, with those close to the beach particularly suggested for their views.
Most of the accommodations have king size beds – twin beds need to be requested .
The Villas are nested in gardens, some with private pool.
- Superb beach with non motorised water-sports (weather permitting)
- Swimming pool
- Numerous dining options plus many more in the immediate area
- Spa
- Gym
- Kids club
Anantara Bophut is one of the oldest hotels in Samui, opened in 2004 with Anantara management taking over in 2012. This meant they had the choice of beach, unlike some of the newer, more contemporary openings who had to accept what was left!
Anantara Bophut offers good all-round facilities, plus Fisherman’s Village next door, which is a real attraction.
There is another Anantara on Samui, the Lawana – located across the island on the east coast. Rather Chinese themed accommodation, interesting dining options and rocky small cove beach. It could be considered for dinner, maybe the Treehouse option – concierge can easily arrange.
The Ananatra are one of the most established hotel groups in South East Asia and are rapidly expanding within Europe. Within Thailand, they have hotels in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Golden Triangle Chiang Rai and Phuket. Twin or multi centre combinations are easy to arrange.
Koh Samui is generally at its best weather wise late March through to the end of September, so the reverse of the Phuket region. You can circumnavigate Samui easily in a day. The north and upper east coasts have the most development, as this is where you find the best beaches. The south and west shores, with their rocky coves, have hardly changed in the last 50 years and still have authentic fishing villages.
There are also several offshore islands you can easily visit for day trips or longer, such as Kho Tao and Koh Phangan, where Anantara has a superb retreat resort, The Rasananda. Koh Phangan is only 30 minutes away by speedboat but it is like going back 30 years in time.

+ About Samui & Neighbouring Resorts
Samui – Good, highly innovative hotels and some excellent dining options. The majority of the development has occurred in the north-west area of the island and the more expansive beaches.
Phangan, Koh Tao and Khanom are much less developed, it is like going back 30 years in time, with just a handful of hotels, and offers a true sense of adventure.

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers. Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May - June level and about 50% more in Asia. For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per-person, per-night hotel guide, excluding air fare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.
