CHIC CHECK

Princesa Yaiza Hotel is one of the most popular family resorts, with super facilities.

In the quieter weeks away from the school holidays, the hotel is also particularly good for couples. Even in the busier months, there are areas that are more romance-focused.

Lanzarote has an almost lunar moon-like volcanic landscape. Interesting, rather than pretty, in the accepted sense. However, the scenery gives the island a distinct personality, with its whitewashed walls, jet-black soil, jagged cliffs and, in some areas, golden sand coves with turquoise waters. Ideal for swimming, snorkelling and diving. It is attractive, but in a Barbra Streisand way!

Playa Blanca is an attractive tourist village, just a few minutes stroll from the hotel. Here you will find a host of restaurant and shopping options.

Lanzarote has an interesting viniculture dating back over 500 years. It is even reputed that Shakespeare’s favourite tipple came from the island! Wine production continued after the volcanic eruptions of 1730, and it is now one of the most acclaimed. Take time to visit the award-winning Bodega Stratus Vineyards, just 25 minutes from the hotel.
