Located on the largest of the Pulau Tiga (it means 3 islands in the Malay Bahasa language) islands and the only one that has human habitation. The resort opened in March 2018. The main island is actually called “Survivor“ island and first came to fame in an adventure type programme broadcast on CBS in 2000.
The island is lush and tropical with dense forest, azure waters, sandy beaches, amazing coral reefs just offshore and volcanic mud pools. To reach the island you travel by road for just over 2 hours west from Kota Kinabulu airport followed by a 20-minute speedboat ride direct to resort.
The other two islands are called Pulau Besak (split sands) and Pulau Damit (snake).
Borneo Eagle Resort has just 13 individual beachfront villas.
All are spacious with at least 172 Sqm of the total in and out living space and air-conditioned bedrooms. The style combines modern contemporary comforts with the real feeling of an authentic and totally Malaysian jungle beach experience. Each villa has integrated living areas which can easily be converted into a 2nd family bedroom. All Villas have TV for satellite channels and Bose home theatre system. Stocked mini bar (not including wine or champagne) replenished daily. Yoga mats.

The Coral Villas are even larger with 261 sqm of the total in and out living space include fish pond rather than a pool.
The Spa villas are the largest accommodation, with over 288 sqm of living space including private pool.

Non-motorised sea activities such as snorkelling and kayaking can be arranged just offshore
Visits to the health-giving volcanic mud pools can be arranged

On the island, you will regularly see Macac monkeys, Monitor lizards, Hornbills and Sea Eagles and probably much more including the intriguing but shy Proboscis monkeys, one of which seems to answer to the name David!

You will be on a beautiful and totally tropical island, playing out your Robinson Crusoe or maybe Bear Grylls fantasies, but with supreme living comfort.
View the journey time from KK Airport to resort (3 hours) as part of the unique holiday experience. It will not appeal to everyone, but that is also part of the attraction. The focus is essentially for adults, but curious independent children who have become bored with face painting will find it amazing.
Clothing should be easy wash with neutral colours. There will be a simple laundry service in the resort (not dry cleaning). Take binoculars, trainers or footwear for island treks.
