Krabi is located on the west coat mainland facing the Andaman Sea, and Koh Lanta is linked by car-ferry and/or speedboat. Both are wonderfully tropical, with limestone islands emerging from the generally turquoise waters. Krabi is more developed, and has a lively nightlife scene at Ao Nang. Koh Lanta is quieter, with just a couple of good hotels, offering a glorious and real sense of escapism.
Amari Vogue Krabi is an attractive Northern Thai Lanna inspired design, built on the side of a hill with steps leading down to an extensive beach front.
Located at Tubkaek beach, 40 minutes west of Krabi Airport and 20 minutes from the lively resort of Ao Nang.
Located on the quiet island of Koh Lanta, The Layana Resort and Spa is a small luxurious, adult only, boutique hotel. Fantastic spa – without doubt one of the very best in the region.
A highly personable style and superb beach front position. Virtually all the rooms were recently enhanced with a bright contemporary design theme.
Pimalai Resort and Spa is a superb resort hotel, in a quiet setting, overlooking an expansive bay, with a dense tropical forest backdrop. You travel from Krabi airport for 40 minutes to the ferry point, and then by speedboat for another 35 minutes (during the period May to October, when sea swells can be high, the transfer might be by road throughout taking about 2 hours).
Rayavadee Krabi has a spectacular setting located within a national park, with lush tropical foliage, limestone cliffs and fringed by 3 beaches, of which 2 are amongst the most impressive in the region. A real Hide & Chic retreat, romantic and essentially couples focused although independent and confident children will also find it attractive.
The ShellSea Krabi is a new superior first class boutique-styled hotel, opened in April 2017. The ShellSea offers something fresh and innovative to the Krabi hotel scene. It is located in expansive tropical gardens leading down the seafront with the unique Fossil beach just 200 metres to the side.
The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort is a charming little hotel, genuinely boutique, with a traditional Thai style combined with an almost alpine influence. On an extensive stretch of beach in a quiet location, overlooking the offshore Hong Islands. The beach here is wide and expansive. Just the place for leisurely beach-combing.
