One of two Malaysian states located on the separate island of Borneo, just under 2 hours flight east from Kuala Lumpur. Situated on the north west corner of the island, our Sarawak Experience Tour is wonderfully eco-influenced, and the real luxury comes in the unique adventure opportunities, rather than the quality of the accommodation. Although the hotels we mention below are pleasant and well located.
The state capital Kuching is small and charming, easy to explore and is a good base for visiting the Semenggoh Orang Utan sanctuary, and a traditional Long House village.

Essentially you have two parts to Malaysia. On the peninsula, running from the southern border of Thailand down to Singapore, you have the lively capital city of Kuala Lumpur, the Cameron Highlands and Taman Negara National Forest and just off the west coast the famous resort islands of Langkawi, Penang and Pangkor Laut. On the much more sedate and tranquil east coast of the peninsula you have the resort town of Kuantan with the island of Tioman just off shore and further up the coast the even more rural and escapist appeal of Tanjung Jara, close to Kuala Terengganu in the north east corner.

The largest student population in Greece, so the city has a lively café vibe, plus the food is regarded as some of the very best in the region, again reflecting the various influences that make up the diverse population. Visit the large Aristotleous Square and just spend a hour or two “people watching “ or walk down Mitropoleos Street which has the main shops.
