Soneva Jani is the newest addition to the inspirational Soneva collection of resorts. In some eyes, the most impressive yet. The combination of simple elegant luxury and nature, allowing the stunning beauty of the Maldives to shine through at every opportunity, but with all of the contemporary comforts you could wish for.
Medhufaru Lagoon is located in the Noonu Atoll, 40 minutes by sea plane (day light flights only), north west of the international airport at Male. It is actually a grouping of 9 small islands, 5 of which are on a long term lease to Soneva. At least two of the “Soneva Islands” have been kept free from any development, so you have a real feeling of escapism, with deserted beaches, ideal for daytime picnics and lush tropical vegetation surrounding you.

Soneva Jani has 24 Over Water Villas. Each is incredibly spacious, with a total of 411 sqm (at least) of total living space.
You have a master bedroom with retractable roof, which is perfect for star gazing. There is an adjacent sleeping area for children. Three separate in villa dining areas and a 13m swimming pool.
All of the Water Villas are built on two levels and most have a slide from the upper floor straight into the sea!

Soneva Jani offers the best of nature, coupled with stripped down sophistication and incredible accommodation. For those with long memories, there is a similarity with the former Soneva Gili, but this is several notches higher, plus the advantage of a fantastic setting.
In the initial stages we think the main appeal will be for couples and those with older more independent children or teenagers. As with all over water and or accommodation with private pools, you do need to think about the suitability, especially with younger less confident children learning or unable to swim.
As with all of the Soneva resorts, this will be at the top end of the price scale, but to many of their faithful followers that is maybe a plus, not a negative.
Twin centres with the established Soneva Fushi are easy to arrange. It is about 90 minutes by speedboat between the two resorts. Combination rate offers apply most of the year.
On the island you currently have just one rather magnificent Residence. More are planned but this could be way off into the future – ask us for updates or maybe even resort investment opportunities.
