Shinta Mani Angkor Resort is a fun and quirky resort where the traditional meets the contemporary, all wrapped in a big Cambodian smile.
Shinta Mani Angkor Resort has a total of 105 rooms and suites spread over two wings separated by a small road, plus 10 luxurious pool villas.
The resort was designed by Bill Bensley, one of the most influential names on the Asian hotel scene. Bill is known for his fun designs, with the humour sometimes disguised. It’s usually bright, vibrant, and culturally respectful yet incorporates a very modern twist. Just walking the corridors can be an experience. Plus, he was one of the first names in Asia to truly embrace sustainability, with particular emphasis on the disadvantaged local youth. It’s subtle, yet the benefits are obvious.
It is so well located in the heart of the old quarter. The shopping district, where you also have an abundance of dining options, is just a few minutes’ walk, as is the river in the opposite direction.
The incredible Temples of Angkor are about a 15-minute taxi ride away. The new airport (opened in autumn 2024) is 45 minutes.
Shinta Mani Angkor Resort has 105 rooms and suites, split between the Bayon and Angkor Wings.
Personally we prefer the Bayon Wing (previously known as Shinta Mani Shack), with its 66 rooms & suites grouped around the attractive garden swimming pool. Low-rise with only two and three floors.
In the Angkor Wing you have 39 rooms and suites, maybe more Asian-Oriental in influence and appeal, plus an additional pool almost deliberately sheltered.
There are 10 immaculate Bensley Collection Pool villas, set in a private area attached to the Bayon Wing. Split level with pool and bedroom on ground floor and relaxing lounge on the upper floor. Total romance at every twist and turn.
