Santiburi Koh Samui has 77 attractive suites and villas, all designed in a traditional Thai style, and 17 more contemporary Residence villas.
You have a choice of:
- Duplex Suites—These have either one or two bedrooms and are located overlooking the main pool, closest to the low-rise main building. Split level with separate living area. About 110m to the beach.
- Deluxe Garden Villas—Located in the garden area, between the main pool and the little river that flows through the resort. Single story, with integrated living area. About 90 m walk to the beach through the tropical gardens.
- Deluxe Garden Villas—Same as Deluxe villas, but closer to the beach, about 40 m walk.
- Deluxe Garden Villa with Plunge Pool—same as above but with a plunge pool on the terrace area.
- Deluxe Pool Villas—As above, but with a larger swimming pool—located on the extreme left or right of the resort, about 60 m walk to the beach.
- Grand Deluxe Pool Villas—Located in a quiet garden area on the left of the resort, about 90 m walk to the beach.
- Deluxe Beach Villas, some with private plunge pools— Same interior as the regular deluxe villas but just a few strides to the beach. Probably the most in-demand villas, the place to be seen—literally. You also have a couple of villas with two bedrooms.
The Reserve is a selection of new One Bedroom Pool Villas. These are much more contemporary in design style and extremely spacious with a large private swimming pool and garden area. They offer an interesting accommodation option for those seeking a more cutting-edge design style in contrast to the traditional style seen elsewhere in the resort. They are set within a private estate area, on the right of the resort, about 120 m to the beach.
- The facilities are excellent, including several restaurant options in different locations, including an attractive beachfront option, particularly nice at night
- Within the immediate area, you have a number of alternative restaurant options
- Santiburi Championship Golf Course close by
- A selection of water sports can be arranged, and there are several dive centers in the area

The resort design style is proudly Thai, rather than funky New York. In our view, that rather adds to the appeal. It might not have the jet-set WOW of some of the more recent additions, which certainly have great views and superb villas, but their beaches simply cannot compare. In recent years there has been a more subtle, contemporary design introduced to the accommodation, without detracting from the very Thai style.
Generally at its best from March to October. During the winter months, the beaches in Samui can be affected by higher waves and some erosion.
Within the Mae Nam area, you have several simple Thai dining options. The Fisherman’s Village restaurant area is about a 10-minute drive. The lively and proudly raucous resort of Chaweng is about a 25-minute drive away, fun for a night out but a very different world.
