For the right client, looking for luxury in a wonderfully natural setting, Soneva Kiri Koh Kood is the ultimate retreat…
Soneva Kiri Koh Kood offers Chic stripped-down luxury. The island is famous for its waterfalls, beaches and traditional village life. Soneva Kiri embraces all of that but adds their own special ingredient of barefoot elegance and jet-set style.
The island is located on the eastern side of the Gulf of Siam, close to the border with Cambodia. You can travel by domestic flight to Trat and then continue by road and speedboat. However, most Soneva clients will appreciate the convenience of the resort’s own daily charter flight from/to Bangkok. Flying time 55 minutes to the small airstrip and then 10 minutes by speedboat.
Koh Kood is a large, totally tropical island, with very few international hotels – of which, the Soneva Kiri, is the most upscale and expensive by a long stretch. Koh Kood, sometimes known as Koh Kut (in typical Thai fashion why have just one name.). The island is known for its great beaches, the totally laid back style and resistance to commercialised tourism. Nightlife and shopping should not be a priority.
Soneva Kiri Koh Kood has 33 private pool villas spread around the extensive resort grounds. All are spacious with incredible in and out living areas and range from one-bedroom up to five bedrooms.
You have a choice of either a sunrise or sunset view. Some villas are set slightly back in the coconut plantation, whilst others are beachfront. All have their own swimming pool and, of course, butler service. The total state is huge and buggies shuttle you around on demand.
- Unique dining options dotted around the resort, including the tree-pod option or dine on the rocks with the water lapping your toes
- Range of water sports and dive centre
- Nature treks around the island
- Kids play area with an emphasis on enjoying nature’s playground
For the right client, looking for luxury in a wonderfully natural setting, Soneva Kiri Koh Kood is the ultimate retreat.
The setting is magical, untamed and totally tropical. Yes, it is expensive, but that seems to add, rather than detract from the appeal.
Best time weather-wise is November to April, and May to October can see heavy showers and higher sea swells.

+ About The Gulf of Siam Resorts
Located on the west coast of the Gulf of Siam, just over 2 hours drive south of Bangkok. For years they have been the aspirational centre for affluent Thai families who have holiday homes in the area. The two resorts run into each other along the coast, with Hua Hin the more developed with many hotels and in particular high rise condominiums.

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers. Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May - June level and about 50% more in Asia. For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per-person, per-night hotel guide, excluding air fare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.
