Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa is a family-friendly first class hotel, designed in a traditional Malay Village style, with Kampong (Village) houses.
Located on the popular Cenang Beach, with over a mile of soft sand and generally gentle waves. The airport is just 10 minutes drive away.

Spread over 51 Malay Lampung (village) influenced houses, with rooms either the ground or upper floor.
You have a choice of:
Garden, pool or beach location.
Deluxe rooms, Junior suites and one and two-bedroom suites.
Most have been recently renovated (all by October 2023) and have a fresh contemporary bright style. All have a balcony or patio.
Several rooms in each cluster are interconnecting.

If your priorities are value and location, with a traditional design theme, Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa is a good choice. It is large, both in room numbers and the extensive grounds. Walking from one end to the other through the tropical gardens taking at least five minutes.
Langkawi is not really the place for nightlife, but there are several chill-out bars just along the beach, and numerous authentic restaurants close by.
Chic Report: last visited by David in June 2023. It remains true to its original Malay teak house village style, but now with modern interiors and facilities. Superb beach and location, with numerous dining options either in the village or beach side.

COVID-19 - Updated Information – March 2023.
Virtually all countries worldwide have relaxed their protocols on Covid and there are very few restrictions. However, most countries review this on a month-by-month basis and will take immediate action should cases return or increase.
As a general statement, we would say travel is back to about 90% of its 2019 pre-covid levels – although with maybe less staff than before. This can particularly apply to airports with check-in teams and baggage handlers, and also in hotels. If you are a long-time repeat visitor to a specific hotel it is quite possible you might know your way around the property better than the newly appointed staff – smile and maybe even try to assist!

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers. Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
