Le Cardinal Exclusive Resort is a highly personalised boutique hotel
Sister hotel to the neighbouring Casuarina Resort, Le Cardinal is a much more upscale intimate boutique option with an emphasis on suite-style accommodation and highly personalised attention rather than extensive resort facilities.
It is styled like residential apartments on three floors, all sea-facing. It shares the same good beach with a semi-private cove area plus all of the facilities of Casuarina including spa and restaurant options are available to you on request.
The airport is 60 minutes scenic drive across the island from the southeast to the northwest corner, passing by fields of sugar cane. The lively capital Port Louis is 30 minutes drive along the coast.
The resort town of Grand Baie which its boutique shopping and dining options is a 10-minute drive. The northwest area of the island is generally known as having the most settled weather, especially in the Mauritius winter months (our spring/summer) when the east coast can experience high winds and sea swells.
Le Cardinal has 13 suites, all sea-facing.
There are Ten Junior Suites (51 sqm) with integrated living area. One Duplex split-level suite (84 sqm) and Two Penthouse Suites (87 sqm).

Le Cardinal Exclusive Resort is a delightful rather discreet retreat. It tends to promote itself with hushed tones, and the many repeat visitors prefer it that way!
You have the life and action of Casuarina if you wish, or maybe explore Grand Baie, then retreat back to your little oasis.
This part of the island is good for exploring, both land sea, with some of the best dives around. Back on land, there are golf courses (Mt Choisy course is just a few minute’s shuttle) and the famous Pamplemousse tropical gardens are 20 minutes drive. A self-drive car might be considered. The roads are good, the signposts a little less so, maybe expect a short detour.
Well-behaved children are accepted although the appeal is essentially couples-focused.
