Turkey is one of the most attractive and exotic destinations, with a wonderful mix of culture, entertainment and value.

We concentrate on the resort areas of Bodrum, Gocek and Maris – all located on the south-west coast, and can also include Istanbul on request.

Getting There

The flying time from the UK is approximately 4 hours.

You will require a visa in advance of arrival, arranged by E-mail. Apply online: evisa.gov.tr – approx. cost £10. per person adult or child payable on application.

Weatherwise

As it is one of the furthest countries east, the main summer season is longer than most, so May/June and mid-September to end  October might be considered to be particularly good value months. The peak demand months for Turkey are July/August when the temperatures and prices are at their highest point. Most resort hotels close in the winter season or operate with reduced facilities.

Why Turkey?

The cultural attractions, the great water quality with clear turquoise blues and greens, the quality of our chosen hotels. Bodrum has grown quickly from a sleepy fishing village/artist colony in the ’80s to a fast-moving international resort, with a superb selection of restaurants, bars and entertainment options. In addition to popularity with British clients, it is equally in demand from many other countries and it rivals Montenegro in Croatia as the destination of choice for many free-spending Eastern Europeans. Bodrum marina usually berths several of the world’s most expensive yachts in mid-summer.

The area surrounding D-Hotel in Maris is even more scenic with lush mountain forests leading down to incredible secluded cove beaches and offshore islands. Five beaches which we rate as some of the very best in the region, including a silent no kids, no phones option. One of the most exclusive hotels in the entire region, halfway between Dalaman and Bodrum Airports, transfer time approx.2 hours.

The D-Hotel Gocek is located adjacent to the attractive marina and village, plus has a fantastic beach a few minutes away – a great base for really exploring the fascinating area with its rock tombs, mud baths and Gulet boat charters.

Istanbul is not featured, however, we can easily arrange hotel accommodation and transfers.

If We Were To Be Critical…

Bodrum has grown rapidly and not always in the most controlled manner. It does have areas of tourism excess, although all of our suggested hotels are away from these, close enough if you want to party occasionally! Bodrum beaches tend to be the pebble variety.

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers.

Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.

For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May – June level and about 50% more in Asia.

For the Mediterranean & Canary IslandsCaribbeanArabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.

*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per person per night hotel guide, excluding air fare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.

Please refer to Travel Advice on our home page or look at www.fco.gov.uk as the Foreign Office may have issued specific destination information on safety and terrorism.
