Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara offers beach escapism with some delicately luxurious touches
The Al Baleed Resort Opened in late 2016 and is probably the most luxurious resort hotel in the Salalah region. Classic contemporary quality seamlessly blending with ornate Islamic architecture.
This southern area of Oman is known for its quiet pace and up until recently, there were significantly more camels than cars! Superb beaches, a traditional authentic town & souk and easy access into the aptly named “Empty Quarter“ largest desert in the world.

Al Baleed Resort Salalah is a very welcome addition to our Oman selection.
The south of Oman is even less developed than the north and will appeal to the curious travellers looking for something new and fresh. We would suggest a stay of 4/5 nights, in combination with the highlights of the north. The beaches here are superb. Close to the hotel, you have several archaeological sites. Rub Al-Kali (empty quarter) can be visited on a day safari.
The most popular time for European visitors tends to be October through early May. During the summer months, it becomes hotter and more humid, although usually the period June to September – known as Kareef (Green season) – you also have light rain and drizzle and green shoots appear almost overnight, changing the arid scenery completely.
Anantara also has a superb hotel high up in the Jebel Akhtar mountains, 2 hours drive from Muscat.
For something very different, why not consider an Anantara triple centre of great contrasts? Start with the new resort in Salalah, for its quiet grace and great beaches, Anantara Jebel Akhtar for the mountains and jaw-dropping views and then the incredible Anantara Qasr al Sarab Desert Resort in Abu Dhabi. Complete Wow! You will have spellbinding dinner table conversations for years, so many unique experiences to share.

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers. Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May - June level and about 50% more in Asia. For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per-person, per-night hotel guide, excluding air fare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.
