Zeavola Resort offers stripped-back, barefoot elegance - with a big smile!
Zeavola Resort resembles a southern Thai rural village, with a lot of teak and thatch roofs. You have a real sense of destination from the moment you leave the Phuket jetty and Phi Phi comes into view. Zeavola was one of the first resorts to genuinely embrace green environmental values, resulting in numerous awards.
It is located on Phi Phi Don, one of the two main islands within the Phi Phi group. The remaining islands are mainly uninhabited limestone rocks. The resident population of the islands is around 3,000, but this considerably increases during the main travel months.
Zeavola Resort is located in the Andaman Sea, halfway between Phuket and Krabi. Most will access from Phuket, so it is approximately 30-45 minutes airport to Phuket Pier (Depending on the traffic in Phuket) and then approximately an hour on a joined schedule or private speedboat to the resort landing directly on the beach (flip flop sandals best footwear).
The ferry operates in daylight hours only. Travelling to the resort is all part of the escapism experience, taking in the incredible scenery with the numerous limestone islands surrounding you. Zeavola is located on Laem Tong beach on the east coast, regarded as one of the best in the region.
Zeavola has 53 individual teakwood villas dotted around the extensive tropical grounds and hillside.
All are spacious starting at 40sqm with an open-air living area.
You have a choice of:
Village Suites, Garden Suites, Beachfront Suites and finally 4 villas with their own private pool.
The villa bedrooms are air-conditioned. The open outside living space breeze or fan-cooled. They are deliberately simple, yet at the same time rather elegant in an authentic way.
- Beachfront location
- Choice of restaurants with differing cuisine options
- Swimming pool
- Spa Cottage
- Beach bar
- PADI dive centre
- The diving and snorkelling here are rated as amongst the best in the entire region
- Boat excursion desk for trips to the neighbouring bays and islands
For the right client, Zeavola Resort can be paradise. It is deliberately simple and truthfully authentic.
You feel like you are in Thailand of yesterday year in ambiance and it offers a total contrast to neighbouring Phuket.
Phi Phi Don does have some concrete pathways so good for walking or cycling. Cars are in a minority and tend to be used for emergencies only. Alternative bays are visited usually by boat. There are some basic chill-out bars, but those seeking shopping, nightlife or opulent dining should look at Phuket. Phi Phi is more about relaxed cordial conversations, and enjoying the wonders of nature. The main appeal will be curious travellers, maybe couples or friends and children who have grown beyond the face-painting stage.
The best time weather-wise is generally December to May, when the days are bright and the sea calm, although the monthly full moon usually brings higher waves. June to November can be more red flag, although not to the same extent as west coast Phuket.

+ About Krabi & Koh Lanta
Krabi is located on the west coat mainland facing the Andaman Sea, and Koh Lanta is linked by car-ferry and/or speedboat. Both are wonderfully tropical, with limestone islands emerging from the generally turquoise waters. Krabi is more developed and has a lively nightlife scene at Ao Nang. Koh Lanta is quieter, with just a couple of good hotels, offering a glorious and real sense of escapism.

COVID-19 - Updated Information – March 2023.
Virtually all countries worldwide have relaxed their protocols on Covid and there are very few restrictions. However, most countries review this on a month-by-month basis and will take immediate action should cases return or increase.
As a general statement, we would say travel is back to about 90% of its 2019 pre-covid levels – although with maybe less staff than before. This can particularly apply to airports with check-in teams and baggage handlers, and also in hotels. If you are a long-time repeat visitor to a specific hotel it is quite possible you might know your way around the property better than the newly appointed staff – smile and maybe even try to assist!

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers. Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May - June level and about 50% more in Asia. For the Mediterranean & Canary Islands, Caribbean, Arabia and the Indian Ocean (except Sri Lanka) price guides generally include airfare and transfers.
*For Sri Lanka and Far East we show a per person per night hotel guide, excluding air fare, as arrangements tend to be individually tailored multi-centre itineraries.
