The Ritz-Carlton Langkawi offers contemporary innovative luxury and is highly individual at every turn. Plus the wonderful tropical forest backdrop flowing down to the romantic beachfront.
Nightly prices range from £328 per person
Based on travel from January to April or November
Higher prices apply over the peak Christmas and New Year period with minimum stay requirements
During the months May to October the price reduces slightly to compensate for the slightly less consistent weather
The Ritz-Carlton Langkawi is a relatively new luxurious addition to the Langkawi hotel scene. Opened in the autumn of 2017, Ritz-Carlton offers top class contemporary styled accommodation and facilities combined with a lush forest backdrop and a sandy bay beachfront. It is located on the west coast just 15 minutes’ drive from the airport.
Kuah Town, the island capital is about 45 minutes drive across the island to the south-east coast – frankly limited interest to most European visitors other than on island tour. Langkawi is not known for its nightlife, but the resort area of Pantai Cenang is about 20 minutes drive south and here you will find numerous authentic restaurant options and shops. Just 5 minutes drive north of the hotel you have an attractive marina with a few additional dining options.
Langkawi island is very rural, totally tropical and is well worth exploring. In the north, you have high mountains and you can take a cable car to the top for some incredible views. For eco-focused adventure, we like the tour around the mangroves and caves. Plus you have several small offshore islands which can be easily visited by private hire boat.
The Ritz-Carlton Langkawi has a total of 90 Guest rooms and 29 villas.
You have a choice of :
Rainforest Deluxe Rooms – Ranging from 75sqm, rooms have either King size or twin beds. Several are interconnecting so ideal for families.
Rainforest Junior Suites with extra integrated living space, ranging from 100sqm
The Single Storey Villas are even more spacious and offer Rainforest, Ocean or Beach Front locations. They are all One bedroom suites, with private swimming pool. They offer a minimum of 200 sqm of the total in and outdoor living space, with the Beach Villas even more spacious.
In Addition, there are a couple of Speciality Villa Suites offering Two and Three bedrooms.
Spa and Health Club | Kids play area and club
400 meter Beachfront with a selection of non-motorised water sports (subject to weather conditions)
Three swimming pools with one designated for adult only use, one beachfront family use and one for younger children
Several dining options in different locations with an emphasis on Asian cuisine with just a nod towards the Mediterranean. The Horizon bar is a personal favourite, both for its incredible sunsets and really good Thai food
The Ritz-Carlton Langkawi is a very pleasing blend of luxury both in the setting and innovative design and, of course, all of the service style associated with Ritz-Carlton.
The backdrop is a dense forest, with monkeys frequently seen swinging through the tree-top canopy. There is an attractive cove beach with an infinity pool and restaurant at either end. Incredible style throughout the resort.
David from Chic stayed here in September (2018) and would be delighted to discuss further.
Langkawi can be easily combined with a few nights in Kuala Lumpur where Ritz-Carlton has an equally impressive hotel ideally located to explore some of the best quality and value shopping in the area. Or maybe look at a combination with Singapore.

Malaysia is one of the most fascinating countries in the region with a rich diversity of cultures, scenery and resort variety. Peninsula Malaysia stretches down from the border with Thailand in the north through to Singapore in the south. On the separate island of Borneo you have the states of Sarawak and Sabah. Flying time from UK is approx. 12 hours to Kuala Lumpur (known as KL). Onward travel to Penang or Langkawi is one hour, two hours to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and Kuching, Sarawak.
Kuala Lumpur, is the proud capital city, with high rise buildings, but just as many colourful older traditional areas. Lively street markets competing with luxurious shopping malls for the attention of your wallet. The prices are some of the most competitive in the region. Fantastic selection of restaurants fully reflecting the diversity of influences found in Malaysia, but with just as many culinary options from around the globe.

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers.
Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid-summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May – June level and about 50% more in Asia.
