While the Carribean may offer some of the best beaches and year round sunshine, this time of year brings the harsh realities of hurricane season. Here Chic Locations will give a brief update on the season and expresses its sympathy for those who have been affected by the recent hurricanes.
Starting on September 18, Thai Airways will introduce the new Airbus A350 to their Heathrow to Bangkok route
Following DK’s recent escapade, we invite you to “Thai Something New” with three superb beach hotels, a luxury resort and one truly spectacular city hotel.
I am rather proud of my reputation of being hard to please, but WOW, The Siam Hotel is truly amazing. A great spa, superb water front restaurant in a traditional teak house, infinity pool… and it just goes on and on. Staff who seem to blend into the background, yet are able to anticipate your needs before you ask. This place is special.
Continuing his tour, DK from Chic leaves a stormy Bangkok behind with his eyes set on Vietnam. With a very limited time table, his time exploring Danang and Hoi An was a whirlwind, but most productive. He visited charming boutique hotels and modern beach resorts, wandered lantern lit streets at night, and visited the rural country side, complete with rice fields and buffalos.
Busy as ever, DK from Chic Locations says good bye to Khao Lak and the wonderful Sarojin Hotel to explore The Hidden Delights of Thailand, focusing on Phuket, Khao Lak, Koh Racha and Koh Yao. On his journey he uncovers some truly amazing hotels and resorts that will soon be featured in Chic’s Thailand collection.
Dk From Chic Locations revisits some old and new hotels, that Chic Locations labels as the Great Hotels of Khao Lak. So much choice for every traveller, be it a super affordable chillout spot, a family resort with numerous restaurants and activities, or a beach hotel for romance and star gazing.
DK from Chic Locations continues his 2017 tour of Thailand, where he is being suitably charmed by the soon to be opened La Vela Hotel in Khao Lak,. Part of the same group as La Flora and Casa La Flora. A superb beach resort suited for both couples and families, as the resort is split into two sections to accommodate both types of travelers.
DK from Chic Locations continues to explore Chiang Rai in the North of Thailand, stopping at a History of Opium Museum, a small temple near the Mekong river. He took some time out to enjoy a meal at the rather unique restaurant called Cabbages and Condoms! Thankfully, no condoms were actually on the menu. Humour aside, it is all for a very good cause.
DK from Chic Locations is enjoying the Colours of Chiang Rai and The Adventures of Thailand. So far he has made friends with two Elephants, visited two very colourful temples and one black museum. He even learned a bit of Muay Thai Boxing. Not a bad start to his next Thailand adventure.
This is great news. It has worked very well in 2017 so far and has seen business to Vietnam increase significantly.
DK Explores a local farmers market in the Algarve, with Anantara’s Chef as a guide, taking the time to move away from the beach to see what else this part of Portugal has to offer. Unsurprisingly, it has plenty for the curious traveller.
