Koh Samet

Description and Location
An attractive little resort, maybe more ‘Maldivian’ in style than Thai, with three rows of thatched roofed cottages. The island of Koh Samet is one of the closest to Bangkok, just a short 2 hours drive south, followed by a 20 minute speedboat ride.

Accommodation
The island has just a few hotels, of which The Paradee is the standout property. Just 40 individual cottages, all sea facing although only the beach front level have clear sea views. The interiors are simple and romantic, mostly with king size 4 poster beds. Some of the garden cottages have their own plunge pool as do all of the beach category. The beach is extensive, with soft sand, whilst the sea is usually an inviting turquoise blue.

Facilities and Activities
Facilities include attractive spa, swimming pool, two bars – one located to enjoy the sunset, a selection of non-motorised water sports.

Chic Check – It has an easy going gentle charm, probably best appreciated by adults – there are no facilities specifically for children. We think it has particular attraction after a multi centre tour around the region and you just need somewhere to chill for a few days without the hassle of another flight before flying home.
