Description and Location
Le Mas Candille is set within a vast estate on the outskirts of the charming village of Mougins, a delightful hotel appealing more to couples, although older children are generally tolerated. Nice airport is 35 minutes away and the resort of Cannes 20 minutes.

Accommodation
The Le Mas Candille hotel has three very distinct sides, offering a total of 46 rooms and suites. Le Mas which has been transformed from an 18th century traditional farmhouse, with a more conservative and authentic design style. La Bastide also offers suite accommodation, with the emphasis on genuine antiques reflecting the history of the region. The new La Villa Candille houses the more contemporary suites, beautifully designed with the latest in modern technology but with a tilting acknowledgement to the region in subtle touches.

Facilities and Activities
Facilities include two swimming pools, one for adults and the other for family use – although children must be supervised by adults, highly acclaimed relais & chateaux restaurant, courtyard bar. Zen influenced Shiseido spa. Fantastic and extensive grounds, with many of the rooms and suites facing out toward Grasse and the lower Alps.

The little village of Mougin is just a few minutes walk away ( see image 5 )  and is wonderfully atmospheric, and has a number of equally attractive restaurant options, artists galleries  and quite pricey souvenier shops. Mougin Town is about 15 minutes walk away, considerably longer coming back as all uphill and here you will find some convenience shops. For the less agile a local bus service operates.

Chic Check – For the right client, seeking something genuinely individual, combining authenticity with concessions to modernity, in a quiet typical French village, Le Mas Candille is outstanding. Gentle and refined. Whilst the summer months are the most popular, the autumn and winter months are equally attractive when the days can be cold but bright and sunny, the air crisp and refreshing. Car hire might be considered as this area is interesting with many quaint villages as well as the larger coastal towns and resorts. However expect the roads to be particularly busy in mid July to end August.

Up to Date Review – The resort was revisted in December 2012. Fantastic subtle quality, elegant in a quiet refined way. Super views.

Travel in Style – British Airways fly several times daily to Nice, and in addition to the standard class also offer a Club Europe cabin with increased on board comfort.

For those looking for an autumn / winter romantic break, Le Mas Candille is highly recommended. The days are usually bright and crisp, just cold enough to entice you to snuggle up but without the clutter of overcoats !
