Description and Location
A combination of traditional Omani and Asian chic. Located on a private beach, 15 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes form Muscat town.

Accommodation
A total of 158 rooms and suites, although it seems much smaller and intimate. The Serai rooms are in the main building either with pool or mountain view, perfectly adequate but on the compact side and in our view more suited for the shorter stay or single occupancy. The deluxe and deluxe club  rooms are scattered around the extensive tropical gardens in two-storey clusters facing the ornate waterpools.

The Chedi Suites have a similar location, but have additional living room and spa bath as well as shower . These are the  only accommodation suitable for families, which in turn deliberately limits the number of children in resort at any one time. The suites are either free standing or in clusters of four with either ground floor with terrace or upstairs with balcony

The deluxe club rooms and Chedi Suites offer complimentary mini bar, laundry, airport transfers  and club lounge access with daily morning coffee & high-tea and evening cocktails. ( The Serai rooms and Deluxe rooms offer in room water, soft drinks and beer )

Most of the accomodation has either mountain or garden facing aspect. Some also have sea facing views, albeit from a distance across the beautiful manicured  gardens.

Facilities and Activities
Facilities include three main  swimming pools – one at the beachfront for adults only ( see image 6 ) and the other close to the main building, ideal for families  with shaded strips ( see image 1)

A new and highly impressive spa  and gym   opened in October 2011, together with further spectacular,   adult only ” Long “  swimming pool  ( making three in total ), with adjacent bar – just the place to enjoy a cocktail looking at the sunset ( See image 2 )

Several restaurant options in differing  locations.

Two tennis courts,  attractive boutique shop with some high quality” souvenirs ”

There are now a couple of  golf courses just 15 minutes drive from the Chedi.

The Chedi is part of the GHM group which includes The Chedi in Chiang Mai and The Legian and Chedi Club in Bali.

Chic Check – Beautifully designed, with some delightful small hidden corners amongst the gardens. The new ” Long ” swimming pool must be one of the most impressive in the region, wonderfully romantic  and evocative. Plus the new spa is equally attractive, with treatments influnced by both Arabia and the Orient. The immediate beach has a mix of sand and pebbles with some ” ouch ” factor. As the hotel is conveniently close to the airport, you may notice some aircraft noise. The main focus tends to be happy  couples,  well behaved children are tolerated but several areas and facilites are designed for  adults only.
