Description and Location
Madinat is the collective resort name that houses three spectacular hotels – Mina A ‘Salam, Al Qasr and Dar Al Masyaf. Professionally owned and managed by the famous Jumeirah International Group, located on a prime stretch of beach 25 minutes from the city centre and 40 minutes from the airport (allow longer times in rush hour).

Accommodation
Each of the three hotels has its own style and personality, with the consistent factor that each is opulent and totally luxurious, and rather unusually for Dubai, delivered with great style and taste. The design is stunning, evoking memories and thoughts of Arabia.

Within the resort you have over 40 restaurants, many deliberately small and romantic, a theatre, an incredible spa, a traditional souk (market place) as well as many of the designer outlets you would expect, and almost 2 miles of soft sand beachfront. And just in case you get bored, adjacent you have the Wild Wadi water park as well as Jumeriah Beach hotel and the iconic Burj Al Arab giving you even more restaurant choice. The word Madinat translates into city and when you view the bottom image you appreciate the scale and size of the resort.

Mina A ‘Salam (292 rooms) has a theme of old Arabia with high wind towers overlooking the 5 miles of waterways that link the various resorts and outlets. The rooms either have marina, side sea view or full oceanfront aspect. All are designed in bright Arabian colours.

Al Qasr (also 292 rooms) means Palace and is designed to resemble a Sheikh’s summer residence and is particularly popular with affluent European travellers. Again you have a choice of inland view, side sea view and oceanfront.

Dar Al Masyaf (283 rooms) is a selection of low rise summer courtyard houses, in a village type setting overlooking the waterways. The majority of the rooms have waterway view with a few located at the beachfront. And finally you also have a selection of 2/3 bedrooms villas within the new Malakiya resort area.

Facilities and Activities
Each hotel has its own swimming pool and within the resort you have a well supervised Sinbad Kids club, available for children 4 to 12 years. Arrangements can be made for younger children under adult supervision. Abra (Arabian water taxis) shuttle you around the resort, as well as having beach boardwalks. A selection of water sports can be arranged (extra cost).

Chic Check – Even the most hardened Dubai critic will admit Madinat has been done with great style and good taste. Hugely impressive, on every level, the range of facilities are just incredible. The total resort has attraction to both couples and families, with many rooms interconnecting especially in Mina A’Salam.
