A Million Shades of Thailand
Ultimate Pleasures in an Exotic Land
With so many wonderful and unique experiences, it is no surprise Thailand is our most popular destination in South East Asia. Be it new travellers or frequent repeat visitors, Thailand always seems to exceed their expectations. Thailand offers the curious traveller a wide array of activities complimented by so much colour and variety.
There are lively cities like Bangkok and Chiang Mai with their legendary nightlife, delightful and varied cuisine options, superb sightseeing, a rich history and shopping. You have numerous Eco-adventures on offer as well. You can get up close and personal with elephants, zip wiring high above the jungle canopy, river rafting, or trekking to a pristine waterfall.
The cuisine is as varied as Thailand itself, with probably 5 different culinary regions. Intricate, delicate, tasty and delicious – sweet, salty and sour, sometimes in the same bite. Here you will find famous names like Tam Yam Goong, Pad Thai, Som Tam and Massaman Curry and so much more. Try a food street tour in Bangkok and Chiang Mai and set your taste buds alive. Plus the fruits, some that will be known to you, but others just waiting to be tasted, explored and enjoyed. Even Thai wines, which are very good, especially the red Shiraz.
Let’s not forget the incredible and totally authentic markets, overflowing with fresh and exotic foods, plus everything else a shopaholic could ask for.
For those looking for culture and out of the way adventures, there are hill tribes and coastal sea gipsies. Ornate temples that decorate the landscape. Wat Arun and the Grand Palace in Bangkok, Chedi and Doi Su Tep temples in Chiang Mai and the incredible White Temple in Chiang Rai with its glittering silver exterior and unconventional artwork interior.
And of course, the amazing spa’s – not only in the range of treatments but also innovative locations.
Thailand has many developed and world famous resorts, but just as many escapist beach resorts, where you will virtually have the beach to yourself. Try Koh Lanta – hardly changed in the last 20 years. Koh Kood is the 5th largest island but with very few tourists. Koh Samed is so close to Bangkok but with Indian Ocean style soft sand beaches and a totally tropical backdrop. Khanom, in the deep south, is hardly known even to Thai’s.
There are established award-winning hotels, but there are almost as many wonderful new properties and resorts that are just waiting to be explored by you.
The people of Thailand have a real desire to please and truly want you to immerse yourself totally in their culture.
Thailand is also home to some incredibly romantic retreats. Lovers paradise it putting it plainly. Amongst our personal favourites:
The Siam in Bangkok, Layana and Pimalai on Koh Lanta, Sarojin in Khao Lak, Zazen and Santiburi on Samui, Tubkaak Boutique Resort in Krabi, Soneva Kiri on Koh Kood, Paradee on Koh Samet – and that is just for starters!
As you can see, there is something for everyone in Thailand.
Chic Locations are Travel Experts for this wonderful destination and have personally visited all of the properties mentioned above. We have exclusive relationships with many of the hotels and resorts, which gives us access to unique discounts to add to the already amazing value offered.
