Learn More About Sri Lanka
For years Sri Lanka has been popular for the wonderful scenic contrasts, the marvellous history and the smiling hospitality.
Resort accommodation was largely adequate, low priced but hardly outstanding on an international scale. All that has changed in the last few years and the island now offers some of the finest small boutique experience resorts to be found in the region. Yes prices have shot up, but the quality and the real sense of occasion is outstanding. Some resorts are completely new and wonderfully innovative. Others are lovingly converted Estate Houses, combining tradition and style with contemporary comforts.
The tours shown here are just a few suggestions. All are operated on a totally private basis (usually just the two or four of you with your own experienced driver guide) they can be easily tailored to suit your personal requirements.
Sri Lanka Experience – 9 days (8 nights)
A complete tour of the major attractions. Colombo for one night , Cultural Triangle for three nights visiting Dambulla en route and Polonnaruwa during stay, two nights Kandy, scenic train journey to Nuwara Eliya or Hatton in the Tea Country (your driver will take you to the station and be waiting at the other end with your luggage) for one night , and then end in the Yala National Park for adventure and game viewing, Elephants and hopefully including leopards – One night. Tour ends with driving to your beach resort. Suggested tour will allow you to see as much as possible in a short time. For those wanting less beach time, and more time exploring we particularly suggest at least extra night in both In the Tea Country) and Yala.
Colombo & Cultural Triangle, Kandy and the flavour of the Tea Country – 8days (7 nights)
A fantastic high quality experience, on so many different levels, using some of the best boutique hotels in the region. We particularly suggest Taylor’s Hill (see page 51 of our brochure) which is wonderfully located half way between Kandy, easily visited as day tour, and the Nuwara Eliya in the Tea country. One night Colombo, Cultural Triangle for three nights visiting Elephant Orphanage and Dambulla en route, day touring to Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa. Three nights Taylor’s Hill, with your driver guide available for day tours. A relaxing, invigorating experience !
Negombo area, Cultural Triangle & Undiscovered East Coast – 12 days (11 nights)
The major attractions of the Cultural triangle, plus the opportunity of sampling the wonderfully unspoilt delights of the East coast. Tour usually best enjoyed April to October. We suggest Negombo for first night, then Cultural triangle for three nights (visiting Dambulla en route, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya during stay). Three nights Trincomalle and four nights Passikudah ( see features page 52). Two very different resort styles, in location and atmosphere which rather adds to the attraction. There are domestic flights on Cinnamon Air from Passikudah (Batticaloa) to Colombo (75 minutes) or we can arrange a road transfer with overnight Kandy. Details on requst.

Sri Lanka Combinations
The aquatic paradise of The Maldives is just a short flight away, so twin centre combinations are easy to arrange. For something very different, why not consider a few nights en route in Dubai with its iconic hotels and sights, with maybe a few nights in the desert?

All price guides are Per Person Sharing Double Room (Entry level), based on travel between May and/or June when prices are generally at their lowest and include promotional offers.
Supplements will probably apply at other times, particularly mid summer in the Med, and for rooms and/or transfers arranged for single travellers.
For example Caribbean and Indian Ocean prices for winter can be approximately double the May - June level and about 50% more in Asia.
